GWS Braces for brac
The BRAC initiative will bring approximately 9,000 military jobs to Aberdeen Proving Grounds by 2011. Right now there is a need for planning and designs to prepare and revamp APG Aberdeen and APG Edgewood. GWS is up to the challenge and ready to meet this important task head on.
GWS offers a flexible staff of engineers, landscape architects and surveyors capable of seeing projects completed through conventional design or fast tracked design-build construction. With an unparalleled understanding of the design and permitting processes in Harford, Cecil and Baltimore Counties, GWS combines local knowledge and experience to civil engineering, land planning projects for government and private industry.
We are currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database and recent examples of our work include the design of a Federal Field Office for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, reconstruction and improvements to the Mologne House Courtyard at Walter Reed Medical Hospital and location surveys associated with clean-up of an environmental site at APG Edgewood.
Our headquarters is located in Belcamp, Maryland situated directly between APG Aberdeen and APG Edgewood. GWS is located within a ten minute drive to either facility and a 30 minute drive to Harford County’s Administrative and Public Works Offices in Bel Air.
GWS offers over 68 years experience in civil engineering, land planning and surveying throughout Maryland. Our experience ranges from study phase through surveying, design and construction administration. We are also routinely involved in design-build projects where we have served as the Lead Civil Engineer of record.
A major advantage of teaming with GWS is that we can provide meeting space and temporary work stations to architectural and engineering firms located outside of Maryland. By serving as the “Local Engineer” we are able to quickly respond to the needs of our client and provide fast, accurate coordination with our partners and clients.
